Mission Statement The OPSL is dedicated to developing and promoting the highest level of amateur soccer
and officiating in the region.
Motto Best fields.Best Refs.Best Competition
Our History
Portland's top amateur men's teams formed the OPSL in 1996, after concluding that the needs of high-level teams are unique and better served in an independent league. In the fall of 2006, the OPSL
added the state's top 8 over-30s men's teams, which then contracted in 2012 after an exciting six-and-a-half year run in which the division was, hands down, the second strongest division of amateur
soccer in the region, second only to the OPSL open division. In the fall of 2012, the OPSL welcomed in the Eugene Metros FC aspiring PDL team, as well as the newly formed Timbers Academy U18 squad
on a "guest team" basis.
A substantial portion of the players in the OPSL have competed at the collegiate level and professional level with several players having played in the MLS, Mexico, Germany, England and in the US
professional indoor soccer leagues.
